Charles began his service at the SBC Executive Committee on August 30, 2020.  He served at Lifeway as a church partner from 2008-2020, was a church planter catalyst from 2013 to 2020 for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, and was a church planter and senior pastor in Tampa, FL, from 1997 to 2007 through the Florida Baptist Convention and Tampa Bay Baptist Association
