WHEREAS, Our brother in Christ, William R. Tolbert, Jr., president of Liberia, was slain in a military coup, and
WHEREAS, His wife is now incarcerated, and
WHEREAS, William R. Tolbert, Jr., a Baptist minister, was a former president of the Baptist World Alliance, and
WHEREAS, Sir Cyril Black of London has offered financial assistance in relocating Mrs. Tolbert in another country,
Be it RESOLVED, That we urge government officials in Liberia to free Mrs. Tolbert on humanitarian grounds.
