Resolution On Vietnamese Refugees


James Monroe presented Resolution No. 12 and moved its adoption. The time was extended ten minutes. The resolution was adopted.

WHEREAS, More than 100,000 refugees from Vietnam are now in the various centers under the control of the United States Government, and

WHEREAS, Most of these people will be unable to return to their homeland in the foreseeable future and will be eligible for resettlement in our country;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the messengers of this session of the Southern Baptist Convention express their concern for their fellow human beings, pray for them, and that the churches and families be encouraged to pray for them, and to aid in their resettlement throughout our country.
